Patricia Noworol, award - winning choreographer, dancer and teacher, graduated from the Folkwang University of Essen, Germany with a BFA in Dance Performance on Stage and a MFA in Dance Education. She also attended the prestigious New York University Tisch School of the Arts on scholarship, graduating with her second MFA, in Dance and Choreography. Additional she studied intensely under the Merce Cunningham Dance Foundation and Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York City, among others.
Noworol’s choreography Circuits has been awarded with the EXCELLENCE AWARD at the 2009 NYC International Fringe Festival for the Outstanding Choreography. Additionally, in 2002 she personally was honored in Nordhein Westphalia/Germany being presented with the Young Artist Award of the Ministry of Arts and Culture. In 2008 Patricia grounded Patricia Noworol Dance (PND) based in Manhattan. In 2010 Ms. Noworol was commissioned to direct two youth festival productions in Germany for the RUHR 2010.European Capital of Culture; Es geht um Sie and HOMMA were met with excellent critical and audience acclaim. Noworol’s work has been performed worldwide and has received garnered extraordinary international media attention - from being featured on European TV to radio interviews and glowing press in Europe and the USA.

Since its inception in 2008, PND has been presented in NYC at Ailey Citigroup Theatre, Manhattan Movement Arts Center, Robert Moss Theater, Duo Theater, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Dance Now Festival, American Dance Guild Festival, the Gala Benefit & Festival Performances at Dumbo Dance Festival, La MaMa Moves Dance Festival, White Wave Festival, NYC Fringe Festival, and the Association of Performing Arts Presenters, among others. The company obtained residencies at the Bessie Alumni Workshop and the DMAC Duo Theater in NYC. The RUHR 2010.European Capital of Culture invited PND to present the piece Circuits in Germany that was performed at Schauspielhaus Bochum, Pumpenhaus Munster, Kulturzentrum Herne. |
In addition to performing with her own company she has danced in and presented her works at Grillo- Theater Essen, Semper Opera Dresden, B12 Hamburg, Teo Otto Theater Remscheid, Flottmanhallen Herne, Folkwang Univerity Essen, Pottporus Festival'10, and Explosive! Theater Festival Bremen'11, to name a few.
Ms.Noworol's work was recognized and funded by the world's major public and private organizations including: Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and in Germany by POTTPORUS e.V., Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, The Federal Agency for Civic Education, Twins 2010_Wave to community, Cultural Radio, and Stadt Herne.
As a dancer she performed as a soloist for Leonard Cruz, Alberto Alarcon, Brigitta M. Merki, as well as the company members of the Tanztheater Wuppertal/Pina Bausch, including Malou Airaudo, Jean L. Sasportes, among others. In the United States she has worked with Deborah Jowitt, Noemie Lafrance, Kay Cummings, Curt Haworth and was a member of the NYC SECOND AVENUE DANCE COMPANY.
Moreover, Patricia has appeared on several TV Shows, dance cruise lines, fashion shows, fitness productions and well-known festivals. Her own choreography has been perform by numerous groups including, Second Avenue Dance Company in Manhattan, Cruise Ships and Regende Theater in Germany.
Noworol had the privilege of being influenced by some of the world’s most important dance personalities including Merce Cunningham, Pina Bausch, Dominique Mercy, William Forsythe, Gus Salomons jr, Alfredo Corvino, and Jean Cébron, among others.
